Adoption is growing in the Church. People are responding to the needs of the fatherless worldwide in greater numbers than I have ever seen before. Likely, you are personally acquainted with someone connected to an adoptive family. If so, would you walk with me through this final journey of ours? The road is long and sometimes lonely. Families need you to know enough about the process to support, encourage, and respond to them in meaningful ways. Or maybe you are interested in adopting in the future. I realized it was time to begin the first adoption process while reading an interview with Stephen Curtis Chapman in a Christian magazine. God spoke to me so clearly --- I knew it was time. May God speak to you in an unforgettable way to guide you down the path He has set aside just for you. Whatever that path, I would love to be a part of it.
I will be writing about our specific process as well as international adoption in a general sense in the coming days--sprinkled among the other regular blogs I post. My desire is simple: to entice and encourage you to listen to the heart of God and reach beyond the ordinary and oh, so temporary, life experiences we too often settle for. It may or may not include adopting an orphan. But there is more than ordinary. Let's not miss it!
